Preparation Time Elementary classroom teachers shall be provided no less than 30 minutes of planning and/or preparation time during the student class day for planning and conferences. Such time will be exempt from student supervisory duties. Teachers shall not be required to have regular daily supervisory duties of students before and after the school day. Secondary classroom teachers will have one preparation period during the student class day for planning and conferences. The preparation period shall not be preempted for any required student supervisory duties. Teacher participation in extracurricular activities for which no additional compensation is paid shall be voluntary. Haney teachers have a planning/conference period of not less than 55 minutes a day. Part time teachers of 3 hours or more have 30 minutes of planning/ conference per day. |
Basic School Day It is understood that the daily hours of employment of teachers shall be a maximum of 7 1/2 hours per day, inclusive of lunch. Exceptions to the 7 1/2 hour day shall be: Open House, PTA/PTO, and graduation (not more than 4 activities per year). Compensatory time will be given. Teachers may also be required to attend after school faculty or professional meetings, but not more than 9 times per year nor more than 30 minutes beyond the regular school day. All teachers will have at least 30 minutes duty free time for lunch. |
