CUTS HURT... MAKE OUR SCHOOLS A PRIORITY!

TALKING POINTS

Make Our Schools

A Priority by:

  • Keeping our veteran teachers from leaving the classroom.
  • Making sure students get the individualized attention they need.
  • Ensuring a well-rounded education for all students.
  • Keeping our classrooms up-to-date.
  • Giving our teachers more time to teach and students more time to learn.

This can be accomplished by:

  • Allow county School Boards to levy the max under Capital Outlay and direct any "new" revenue to go to the General Operating Budget WITHOUT a local referendum.
  • Eliminate many of the tax exemptions that make little or no economic sense to the average citizen. Get rid of special interest tax exemptions.
  • Pass an additional 1 cent sales tax for education to sunset in 3 years.
